Just in time for the holidays, Arrow Flick now includes an all-new game mode, Holiday Apocalypse. In it, you take aim at zombies hellbent on, you guessed it, eating your brains.

The good news is that you are armed with an infinite number of arrows to survive 50 waves of zombies. Each wave brings more zombies whose aggression and evasiveness grow greater and greater as well.

You aren’t limited to an old-fashioned bow and arrow, either. Holiday items littered throughout the scenario -- presents, stockings, ornaments -- unlock special weapons to combat the dead men (and women) walking. Weapons include bows capable of shooting three arrows at once and arrows that can be rapidly fired or tipped with explosives.

In order to be killed, zombies must be struck twice or, of course, just once in the head. Players can earn special achievements -- such as “I see dead people” and “Here’s looking at you, zombie” -- for hits, headshots, kills and misses.

In Arrow Flick's other game modes, you are given five arrows per round, which are strategically flung at standing targets (make sure you hit all three), roving animals and dangling fruit. Gameplay unfolds in one of two landscapes, savanna or forest. The savanna is populated by lions, crocodiles and rhinos, while the forest is home to deer, bears and rabbits. In Arrow Flick, you are awarded points and special achievements (there are 183 of them) for hits, kill shots, bull’s eyes, headshots, tricks, even misses. If you stray too far from the mark, you can earn such achievements as stumblebum, klutz or spazoid. Ace your marks, however, and you may be deemed the next Robin Hood.

As each of the 50 rounds advance, the winds become stronger, the animals’ kill zones smaller and their tendency to get spooked greater. Steadiness with the bow is harder and harder to maintain.

Accompanying you in your challenge is a musical score that’s heavy on silly sound effects and nature sounds – birds singing, winds moaning, animals shuffling across the landscape. You can hear the tautness of the string as its pulled back, the twang of the arrow’s release and the thud when it strikes its target. When an animal is killed, it cries with agony. In Arrow Flick, every headshot to a standing target is followed by a bloodcurdling yowl.

Giusto in tempo per le vacanze, Arrow Flick ora include una modalità di gioco completamente nuovo, vacanza Apocalypse. In esso, si prende mirare a zombie determinato a, avete indovinato, mangiando il cervello.
